Bataan is in the midst of promoting Green Economy, the new buzzwords now. According to Bataan Second District Congressman Albert S. Garcia, Bataan is now gradually shifting to renewable energy by embracing the use of electric vehicles. He disclosed the good news during the 268th Founding Anniversary of Bataan rites at Bataan Peoples Center last Saturday that Grab will operate 150 EV units provincewide.
Congressman Garcia said 150 units of franchised vehicles for the Transport Network Vehicles Service (TNVS) will soon become part of Bataan transport system. Charging stations and solar panels will be established in strategic points of the province.
“So magiging halos libre na po ang transport system natin at napakalaking oportunidad ito sa ating mga negosyante dahil magiging madali na ang mobility,” Abet explained.
He likewise revealed that President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. signed the document for the provision of 1,000 beds for the Bataan Provincial Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC). The former Bataan governor said a geriatics center will soon be put up making BGHMC a specialty hospital where important medical and laboratory services shall be made available to Bataan folks making it a leading hospital in Central Luzon.
Cong. Garcia added that the memorandum of agreement between the provincial government of Bataan and private hospitals is existing to help local residents who cannot afford costly hospitalization. Under existing guidelines, 70 percent of hospital bills shall be settled through arrangement with Inter-Agency Action Center.
